SAN DIEGO, CA October 6 2013 – Starting today, downtown is about to take superfoods to a super human level. Opening at 910 J Street is SOL CAL—San Diego’s healthy, vegan-friendly market café and juicery. Created by former NFL great, Jacob Bell and Integrative Nutritionist, Thomas ‘Mr. Ndensity’ McCann.
“When I played in the NFL and ate super healthy for a living, I was lucky to have a private chef and always wanted to provide the same quality food for the public,” says founder and former NFL player Jacob Bell.
That’s why Bell teamed up with his cousin Thomas to create SOL CAL café.
SOL CAL is serving fresh cold-pressed organic juice, single source organic coffee, teas and elixirs, a full menu of grab-n-go salads, sandwiches, soups, tacos, wraps and delicious ice cream and desserts.

Every detail in the restaurant was designed with intention, from every chair in the space to every word on the menu. Interior design and visual branding was created by Studio Hus, an LA-based interior design firm. Copywriting and brand voice was developed by Blaser Creative, Inc.
Everything on the menu is pressed, squeezed, ground, pureed, mixed, chopped and churned in-house and made with Organic, Local, GMO-free, dairy-free, gluten-free and unrefined ingredients. Bell says, “We started SOL CAL to give people the healthiest possible food at a good price in a convenient way. Because we all deserve better options.” This new addition to San Diego’s healthy restaurant scene promises its customers one thing, “Healthiness is Happiness.”
